Today, on July 7, at the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization being held in Tashkent, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Muhammad bin Abdulkarim al-Issa, highly assessed Uzbekistan's place in the history of Islamic civilization, calling the country «one of the brightest pages written in the book of Islamic civilization».
The forum was organized to promote the ideas of peace, tolerance, and knowledge, and it is attended by nearly 300 foreign scholars, politicians, cultural and religious figures from over 40 countries.
In his speech, Muhammad bin Abdulkarim al-Issa emphasized that Uzbekistan is one of the largest centers of Islamic civilization in Central Asia, and specifically highlighted the role of Samarkand and Bukhara in the development of world science and spirituality.
According to him, Samarkand was a pearl of the Great Silk Road and one of the important centers of the development of Islamic architecture. Bukhara, for centuries, was known as one of the most influential centers of learning in the Islamic world and is closely associated with the name of the great hadith scholar Imam Bukhari.
«We know well and are pleased that Uzbekistan is not an ordinary country on the map. It is one of the brightest pages written in the book of Islamic civilization», said Muhammad bin Abdulkarim al-Issa.
According to his words, Islamic civilization has made a huge contribution to human development not only through historical monuments or architectural landmarks, but also through science, legislation, high moral values, and traditions of enlightenment.
Furthermore, Muhammad bin Abdulkarim al-Issa highly appreciated the work being done in Uzbekistan to preserve, restore, and promote Islamic, scientific, and cultural heritage. He recognized the Center of Islamic Civilization built in Tashkent and the Imam Bukhari memorial complex in Samarkand as important scientific and educational centers for the Islamic world.
