Tragedy in Yunusobod: Lacetti split in two; it was determined that an underage teenager was driving the Kia.

According to the information of the IIBB, the underage driver fully admitted his guilt. He asked for forgiveness from the relatives of the deceased, from his parents, and from the people of Uzbekistan, expressing deep regret over the incident that occurred.

New details have been reported regarding the horrific traffic accident that caused the death of two people in the Yunusobod district of Tashkent. This was reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city.

Earlier, a video showing the Lacetti split into two as a result of a traffic accident involving Lacetti and Kia cars was widely circulated on social networks.

It turned out that the Kia car was driven by a minor teenager. He took the car keys without his father's permission at night and went for a ride around the city with his friends.

According to the teenager's testimony, he was driving the car at high speed and, although he noticed the Lacetti entering the intersection, he could not stop the vehicle in time. In the resulting violent collision, two citizens who were in the Lacetti car died at the scene.

Also, as a result of the accident, three more people, including two children, were hospitalized with various degrees of bodily injuries.

According to the Main Department of Internal Affairs, the minor driver fully admitted his guilt. He asked for forgiveness from the relatives of the deceased, his parents, and the people of Uzbekistan, expressing deep regret over the incident.

The teenager's parents also expressed condolences to the family members of the deceased and stated that they are ready to take on the responsibility imposed by law.

It was reported that after the incident, a discussion meeting was held with the participation of neighborhood residents. Also, a preventive meeting with the participation of teachers and students was organized at the school where the teenager studied.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan — violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation rules, resulting in deaths. According to this article, a person found guilty may be sentenced to up to 10 years of imprisonment.
