In Tashkent city, the illegal circulation of a large amount of narcotic drugs brought from Thailand has been stopped. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to reports, within the framework of the second stage of the comprehensive operational and preventive measures «Safe and Healthy Country» being conducted on a republican scale, an operational event was carried out in the Chilanzor district of Tashkent city in cooperation with employees of the State Security Service and the Customs Committee.

During the event, the sports bag of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, born in 2004, was inspected in the prescribed manner. During the inspection, it was found that there was hashish oil weighing approximately 11 kilograms hidden inside the bag under the guise of sweets and other food products. This narcotic substance was formalized as material evidence.

According to preliminary information, the suspect brought this narcotic substance from Thailand and planned to deliver it to the Republic of Kazakhstan. A criminal case has been initiated against him regarding this situation. Currently, investigative actions are being carried out.

The State Security Service called on citizens to report via the agency's short number 1520 when encountering situations related to narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their illegal circulation. It was noted that the confidentiality of the applicants' identity is guaranteed.
