The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that additional airstrikes have been conducted against Iranian territory. Washington states that this operation was carried out to ensure the safety of international maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a statement released by CENTCOM, the strikes are aimed at limiting Iran's ability to threaten the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

"The United States holds Iran responsible for the recent unjustified attacks against commercial vessels and civilian crews transiting this vital international waterway," the statement reads.

U.S. President Donald Trump, on his Truth Social social media page, called these strikes "a response to yesterday's attack on the ships."

"If it happens again, the consequences will be much more severe," Trump wrote.

At the same time, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that strikes had been carried out against American military bases located in Kuwait and Bahrain. The Corps statement noted that if the US's "aggressive actions" continue, the retaliatory strikes will also cover other American facilities in the region.

Muhammad Baqir Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and head of the negotiation team, accused the United States of violating the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding.

According to him, Washington has not adhered to the agreements regarding the Strait of Hormuz, has made new military threats against Iran, has reinstated oil sanctions, has carried out strikes on the south of the country, and has supported Israel's actions against Lebanon.

Ghalibaf emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz will only open under the terms set by Iran.

"America still does not understand that threats and breaking promises will not remain without consequences. I tell you openly: if you strike, you will receive a retaliatory strike. Do not act foolishly, otherwise the situation will become even more complicated. The Strait of Hormuz will open based on Iran's terms, not American threats," he said.

Earlier, speaking at the NATO summit, Donald Trump described negotiations with Iran as "a waste of time" and stated that the ceasefire agreement had effectively ended. There have also been reports that the US struck approximately 80 targets on Iranian territory.
