Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented the heads of state and government who participated in the 36th NATO Summit in Ankara with a personal gift: the book titled "The Politics of Courage: Erdogan and the Rise of Turkey". The book was given to the leaders along with a special letter bearing the President’s signature. This was reported by the Anadolu Agency.
According to reports, this book was prepared in English for an international audience at the initiative of the Erdogan Foundation, and it analyzes Turkey’s political development in recent years, the significant challenges faced by the country, the strategic decisions made, the reforms implemented, and the state’s long-term development goals.
The work also sheds light on the political, social, and institutional changes that have taken place in Turkey over the past quarter-century through the political career and leadership style of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, based on the concept of "the politics of courage."
In his personal letter attached to the book, Erdogan also touched upon the essence of the work.
"History is not merely a collection of events that have occurred, but a common legacy of the decisions that gave direction to those events, the immense effort, and the formed perspectives. Beyond my personal life path, this work is an expression of our dreams built together with our people, our realized projects, and the legacy we are leaving to future generations," reads the Turkish President's letter.
It is noted that the book goes beyond the scope of an ordinary political biography and is aimed at interpreting Turkey’s modern history from the perspective of the country’s leadership, society, and state development. Therefore, it is being regarded as one of the sources that explains the political and social foundations of the changes in Turkey in recent years for international readers.
Let us recall that earlier, reports circulated that Recep Tayyip Erdogan had gifted a special engraved pistol and a box of ammunition to NATO leaders following the conclusion of the 36th NATO Summit held in Ankara.
