The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) will allocate $1 million to assist the population affected by the strong earthquake that occurred in Venezuela. The organization's press service reported this.
On June 24, two powerful earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 struck the country. According to official data, 3,889 people died as a result of the natural disaster, and 16,740 residents were injured.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized that in this difficult situation, the people of Venezuela can count on the support of the global football community.
According to him, the allocated funds will be directed to humanitarian organizations and local partners to provide prompt assistance to the victims.
