In Uzbekistan, measures were taken against 172 individuals who burned fields after wheat harvesting. They were fined a total of 212.5 million soums. This was reported by the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change announced.

Also, violators were required to pay an additional 652.3 million soums for damage caused to nature.

According to the committee, control measures against burning of wheat-cleared lands have been intensified. Regional main departments distributed warning letters to 7,760 farms not to burn fields.

Through monitoring activities and analysis of satellite images, it was found that 744 fields across the republic had been burned.

Ecologists are monitoring not only fields but also cases of burning stubble, fallen leaves, branches and twigs, and other plant residues in populated areas. During raids, 9,821 such violations were recorded and administrative protocols were drawn up.

According to analysis, cases of nature damage were observed more in Andijan (348), Tashkent (127), and Surkhandarya (95) regions. Therefore, control measures have been further strengthened in these areas.
