President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Bekabad on a new electric train launched on the "Tashkent – Bekabad" route. This was reported by the President's press service.
It is noted that this project was implemented within the framework of the President’s resolution dated December 27, 2025, aimed at increasing the volume of passenger transportation on local railway routes by 2030.
According to the information, it is planned to transport about one thousand passengers per day and up to 300 thousand passengers per year via the "Tashkent – Bekabad" railway line, which is 192 kilometers long.
A modern electric train consisting of six carriages, designed for 586 passengers, operates on this route. The train travels at speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour.
The electric train is equipped with air conditioning and heating systems, soft seats, USB charging devices, Wi-Fi, electronic information boards, a video surveillance system, special spaces for bicycles, and lifts for persons with disabilities.
The President gave relevant instructions to officials on further developing railway infrastructure, electrifying networks, improving conditions for passengers, and enhancing the quality of service at stations.
