The US military announced that it struck dozens of targets in Iranian territory, including air defense systems, radar stations, missile and drone facilities, as well as small military vessels.
According to Iranian media, strong explosions occurred in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Sirik, Jask, and some areas of Khuzestan province.
It was reported that one person was killed and four others injured as a result of a strike on a water pumping station in the city of Mahshahr.
Iran, in response, announced that it launched attacks using missiles and drones on US-affiliated military facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Jordanian officials said that four missiles flying in the country's airspace were destroyed by air defense systems. Kuwait, meanwhile, announced that its air defense forces acted against enemy aerial targets.
Following the escalation in the Middle East, prices also rose on the global oil market. In particular, the price of Brent crude oil exceeded $79 per barrel.
