In the first ten days of July, in several regions of Uzbekistan, schoolchildren and preschool pupils were involved in outdoor events under hot weather conditions. The Children's Ombudsman issued an official statement regarding this situation.
It was noted that during certain events held in Navoi, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions, children being exposed to high temperatures and direct sunlight could pose a risk to their health. Therefore, a call was sent to responsible officials to limit the involvement of children in outdoor events during heatwaves.
The Children's Ombudsman emphasized that such situations contradict established sanitary and safety requirements, stating that appropriate measures should be taken against officials who endangered children's health, and that such incidents must be prevented in the future.
At the same time, the Department of Preschool and School Education of the Kashkadarya region responded to reports circulated on social networks that the "Urgent 90 Days" events were held outdoors on anomalously hot days.
According to the department, the photos and videos shared on social networks were not taken on the current days, but during an event organized on July 8 in the Dehkanabad district.
According to officials, all regional divisions have now been given appropriate instructions to hold "Urgent 90 Days" events as much as possible in cool and enclosed buildings during the period of anomalous heat, and to ensure the health and safety of students as a priority.
The department also criticized some social media pages for disseminating information without clarifying the situation through official sources.
