The Health Department of the Kashkadarya region issued an official statement regarding reports circulating on social networks that three members of one family in the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region were diagnosed with rabies.

According to reports, on July 10 of this year, a 47-year-old resident of the Kitab district was hospitalized on suspicion of a dangerous infectious disease.

During the epidemiological investigation, it was found that this citizen had been scratched by a fox cub approximately one month ago. Unfortunately, he died on July 11.

Currently, a forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the cause of the deceased's death.

According to the department, three citizens living in the area were examined as a precautionary measure. No clinical signs of rabies were found in them.

Currently, these citizens are under the supervision of doctors, and necessary preventive vaccination measures are being carried out for them.

It was also reported that in the Kitab district, the epidemiological situation has been fully brought under control through the cooperation of the Kashkadarya Regional Health Department, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety and Public Health Service, and veterinary specialists.

Officials asked the public not to give in to unfounded concerns, and social network users not to spread unverified and false information.
