In the first quarter of 2026, the volume of taxes paid by foreign IT companies operating in Uzbekistan increased significantly. A total of 89 electronic service providers paid 65.7 billion soums in taxes.
According to the Tax Committee, this figure is 81 percent higher compared to the same period in 2025. The bulk of the revenue comes from major international companies.
Among the companies that paid the most taxes, Apple ranked first with 16.1 billion soums. Google paid 14.9 billion soums, and Meta paid 13.9 billion soums in taxes.
Additionally, Valve Corporation made a payment of 8 billion soums, OpenAI 2.5 billion soums, and Anthropic 1.5 billion soums.
Other companies, including TikTok, Booking.com, and Netflix, also contributed to tax revenues.
Let us recall that in Uzbekistan, a procedure for paying VAT on foreign electronic services has been in effect since 2020, and the registry was further expanded in 2025.
