The brother of the People's Poet of Uzbekistan Abdulla Oripov, Professor Abdurazzoq Oripov, has passed away. This was reported by the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan.
According to the information, the farewell and funeral prayer for the deceased will be held on July 16 at 08:00 at the address: 23 Yangi Tong Street, "Samarqand" neighborhood, Karshi city, Kashkadarya region.
For reference, Abdurazzoq Oripov worked as a professor at the Department of Plant Science and Forage Production of the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology.
He was the older brother of the Hero of Uzbekistan, People's Poet of Uzbekistan Abdulla Oripov.
Abdulla Oripov was one of the prominent representatives of Uzbek literature, known as a poet, translator and public figure. He is also the author of the lyrics of the State Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The poet passed away on November 5, 2016 in Houston, USA at the age of 75.
