U.S. President Donald Trump, in an address from the White House, accused China of attempting to interfere in the 2020 presidential election. According to him, hundreds of classified intelligence documents confirming this have been declassified. This was reported by the BBC.

Trump stated that China illegally obtained the personal data of 220 million voters. He also claimed that voter data from 18 states was purchased, stolen, or seized through hacker attacks.

However, the president presented no evidence confirming that China used this data to influence election results or alter the voting system.

In a statement to Reuters, the Chinese Embassy in Washington said Beijing has never interfered in U.S. presidential elections and has no such intention.

At the same time, a 2021 report by the U.S. intelligence community concluded with "high confidence" that China did not interfere in the 2020 presidential election.

During his address, Trump also claimed that voting machines in the U.S. are "very vulnerable" to external interference by countries such as Russia, China, and Iran.

Furthermore, he said that a group affiliated with the Democratic Party in Michigan committed fraud in voter registration, but the FBI obstructed the investigation. He also stated that the Ministry of Homeland Security had identified 278,000 non-U.S. citizens included on voter rolls. However, no evidence was provided that they voted or influenced the election results.
