The head of the President's State Security Service (PSSS), Alisher Usmanov, has been relieved of his position. Head of the Presidential Press Service Sherzod Asadov announced this on his Telegram page.
Alisher Usmanov was appointed to this position in December 2020 and had been leading the President's State Security Service since then.
Prior to his appointment as head of the President's State Security Service, he held various leadership positions in law enforcement and security agencies. In particular, he served as Deputy Chairman of the State Security Service.
He also served in responsible positions within the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Specifically, he was the First Deputy Head of the Investigative Department of the Tashkent City Main Internal Affairs Directorate.
For his services in the field of ensuring state security and public order, Alisher Usmanov was awarded the Order of Honor and Glory, 2nd Degree, in 2007.
