The Central Bank's Islamic Finance Council, which coordinates issues related to Islamic finance activities in Uzbekistan, has been established. This was reported by the Central Bank's press service.
According to the information, the council is a collegial body that coordinates the activities of commercial banks providing Islamic banking services, microfinance organizations offering Islamic financing services, the Deposit Guarantee Agency, and other organizations under the supervision of the Central Bank.
The composition of the council consists of five members with expertise in Islamic law and finance.
Saijamol Masayitov, Chief Specialist of the Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, has been appointed as its chairman. Muhammadayubkhon Homidov, Chief Specialist of the Fatwa Center, has been appointed as deputy chairman.
Additionally, Fatwa Center specialists Hikmatilla Toshtemirov and Abdullatif Tursunov, as well as Akhrorjon Sadullaev, managing partner of the audit firm Orient Audit Group, have also been confirmed as members of the council.
