Two logistics centers belonging to Wildberries, located in the city of Tambov and the city of Elektrostal in the Moscow region of Russia, were attacked by Ukrainian drones. According to Russian officials, eight people were killed and 62 others were injured as a result of the incident. Citing foreign sources, Zamon.uz reported.
Reportedly, seven people died and 25 were injured as a result of the strike on the warehouse in Tambov. In the attack in Elektrostal, one person was killed and 37 sustained injuries.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the attacks targeted large logistics facilities storing sanctioned components used in drone production. He said Ukraine also struck a number of targets in the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov, and Crimea.
Wildberries CEO Tatyana Kim called the incident a "terrible night" for the company. According to Tambov Governor Evgeny Pervyshov, all of the deceased were employees working the night shift. It was also reported that 28 drones approaching the area were destroyed at the time of the attack.
Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that eight of the injured in Elektrostal are in serious condition. According to him, 48 drones were shot down overnight in the Moscow region, and one of them caused a fire after crashing into an oil depot.
In an interview with the BBC, head of the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Center Serhiy Kuzan stated that the Wildberries logistics network is of significant importance to the Russian army. He emphasized that dual-use products and electronic equipment for military needs were being supplied through the platform.
Zelensky said these attacks were a response to Russia's strikes on civilian objects in Ukraine. At the same time, it was reported that 14 people were killed in Ukraine as a result of Russia's latest attacks.
