A new high in electricity consumption and production was recorded on July 17 in the unified energy system of Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Energy reported this.
According to the ministry, on that day, daily electricity consumption in the country amounted to 293.4 million kilowatt-hours. This is 20.8 million kilowatt-hours, or 7.6 percent, higher than the highest figure recorded in the summer season of last year.
Additionally, the volume of electricity production also reached a record level. On July 17, 296.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced, which is 0.7 million kilowatt-hours higher than the previous record set on July 16.
When electricity generated by low-capacity solar photovoltaic stations is also taken into account, the total production volume amounted to 305 million kilowatt-hours.
The Ministry of Energy noted that dispatch services are constantly monitoring the load on power grids, as well as the condition of transmission lines and transformers. In necessary cases, prompt measures are being taken to prevent overloads.
