The president of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, may put forward his candidacy in the FIFA presidential election scheduled for 2027. This was reported by The Touchline.

According to reports, some national associations within UEFA are looking for a candidate capable of putting up a worthy challenge to the current FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, in the upcoming elections. Nasser Al-Khelaifi is being mentioned as one of the main candidates under discussion.

Reports indicate that his candidacy could be supported by the football federations of Belgium and Poland. However, the PSG chief has not yet made an official statement regarding participation in the election. Therefore, for now, the discussion is only about a potential candidate.

At the same time, football officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Spain are also holding negotiations regarding other potential candidates from Europe. Among them, the name of Dariusz Mioduski, the owner of Warsaw's Legia club, has been noted.

It is noted that criticism of Gianni Infantino's leadership has intensified following the controversy surrounding the red card shown to US national team forward Folarin Balogun. According to some information, UEFA stated after investigations that FIFA had exceeded its mandate.

Nevertheless, despite the discontent in Europe, Infantino maintains his position thanks to the support of confederations from other continents. Therefore, the emergence of a rival does not necessarily mean his departure from FIFA leadership at this point.
