It is proposed to increase land and property taxes for greenhouse farms in certain areas of Tashkent city and region. The draft law on this matter has been submitted for public discussion until July 31.
According to the draft, for agricultural lands occupied by greenhouses located in Tashkent city, as well as in the Upper Chirchik, Kibray, Yangiyul, Zangiata, and Tashkent districts, the land tax may be set at 10 times the current rate.
At the same time, these increased taxes will not apply to greenhouses where heating boilers have been removed or which are heated using electric energy.
The purpose of the new regulation is to reduce the environmental impact of greenhouse farms and to encourage the use of environmentally safe, energy-efficient technologies.
Additionally, restrictions are planned on establishing new greenhouse farms that use harmful fuels, and a phased relocation of greenhouses that do not meet environmental requirements to the "Surkhan-Agro" free economic zone in the Surkhandarya region is envisioned.
