In order to protect the life and health of employees working outdoors under abnormally hot weather conditions, the State Labor Inspectorate has sent a special directive to all local authorities. This was reported by the State Labor Inspectorate.

According to the directive, certain types of work that are performed under the influence of high temperatures during the hottest part of the day, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and may pose a risk to the life and health of employees, will be temporarily suspended.

It has also been established that flexible working hours will be introduced for employees working outdoors.

Employers must provide employees with a sufficient amount of quality drinking water and set up rest areas protected from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

Furthermore, it is not allowed to engage persons who have not undergone a mandatory medical examination or who, according to a medical conclusion, are deemed unfit to perform specific work.

The directive requires measures to provide employees with personal protective equipment, review the work and rest schedule, and ensure immediate first aid is given to any employee whose health deteriorates due to high temperatures.

The State Labor Inspectorate stated that compliance with these requirements will be continuously monitored. Officials and responsible persons who violate labor protection rules will be held accountable in accordance with applicable legislation.
