At the video selector meeting, it was noted that the price of potatoes in the fields during the harvest period dropped because the intervention system was not properly established in the regions over the year.

Due to a lack of interest among farmers, 325 thousand tons of potatoes remain unsold.

The head of state emphasized the need to purchase potatoes from farmers at a price that ensures their profit, store them in reserves, and release them to the market during periods of shortage to maintain price stability.

It was criticized that despite half the year having passed, not a single refrigerated storage facility intended for storing fruits and vegetables has been brought into operation in the regions of Karakalpakstan, Andijan, Jizzakh, Surkhandarya, and Tashkent.

A task has been set to commission 340 refrigerated storage facilities with a total capacity of 87 thousand tons by the end of the year.

This year, governors were required to increase food reserves by 2.5 times, reaching 500 billion soums. However, it was stated that, apart from some regions, not a single governor has transferred funds to the reserve.

The Deputy Prime Minister has been tasked with approving a schedule within three days and determining how much money governors should transfer monthly to the food reserves.
