A modern overpass has been built at the intersection of the A-373 highway and the Tashkent Big Ring Road in the Tashkent region. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected this facility during his visit to the region.
The project, worth 240 billion soums, has been implemented on an area of 14.1 hectares at the junction of Bektemir and O'rta Chirchiq districts.
Within the framework of the project, a bridge 66 meters long and 46 meters wide, a 450-meter underground road, two U-turn lanes, four underground pedestrian crossings, and a 950-meter circular ring road have been constructed.
Additionally, 9.5 kilometers of pedestrian and bicycle paths, 8 public transport stops, 240 outdoor lighting fixtures, and 6 kilometers of road barriers have been built.
The new overpass will help efficiently organize traffic flow, improve road safety, and reduce congestion. It will also reduce travel time between the city of Tashkent and Nurafshon by 10–15 minutes.
As a result of the facility's commissioning, the daily traffic capacity of the route will increase several times, reaching 130,000 vehicles.
Furthermore, plans are in place to launch a system of high-speed buses — BRT — on the Tashkent–Nurafshon route in the future.
