President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to Tashkent region, familiarized himself with the activities of the "Cyber University" state university in the city of Nurafshon and launched the construction of the Future Technologies Center to be established adjacent to the university grounds.
The "Uzbekistan – 2030" strategy identifies the transformation of the country into a regional IT hub as one of the priority tasks. To this end, special attention is being paid to digitalizing public administration and economic sectors, developing modern infrastructure, training competitive personnel, and expanding the innovative ecosystem.
Established based on the President's decree dated January 20, 2025, "Cyber University" trains specialists in the fields of information and cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and robotics, cyber law, digital forensics, and cyber economics.
Currently, the university operates 2 faculties and 4 departments, with nearly 1,000 students studying in 8 bachelor's and 2 master's degree programs.
The higher education institution includes an academic building with 1,585 seats, a student dormitory with 805 seats, sports complexes, a cafeteria, and an information resource center.
The President engaged with the youth studying at the university.
"In the future, the need for specialists like you will increase even more. If every sector and every region does not develop in harmony with digital technologies, the country will not progress. Therefore, you must work tirelessly on yourselves and acquire the most modern knowledge," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Afterwards, the head of state participated in the cornerstone-laying ceremony for the construction of the Future Technologies Center, which will be built on the grounds adjacent to the university.
Approximately 500 million dollars in investment will be attracted for the construction of the center, which covers a total area of 36 hectares. The complex is expected to become a unified innovative ecosystem integrating educational, research, technological testing, and production processes.
The center will establish 6 modern laboratories in the fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and cryptography. Additionally, an artificial intelligence data center, an engineering cluster, protected computer and data transmission devices, and a high-tech token production center will be built.
A special testing ground will be set up for testing unmanned drones and robotics equipment. With the assistance of the Asian Development Bank, a platform for commercializing local technologies and bringing national products to international markets will also be created.
It is planned that the Future Technologies Center will create over 5,000 highly qualified jobs.
At the ceremony, work also commenced on implementing 9 new projects with a total value of 465 million dollars, involving companies from China, Russia, and Germany. As a result of these projects, an additional 5,000 jobs will be created.
Furthermore, construction of modern IT park buildings will begin in the cities of Nurafshon and Chirchiq.
It was noted that in 2026, the export of digital services from Tashkent region is expected to reach 50 million dollars for the first time.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of turning the Future Technologies Center into a hub for artificial intelligence and digitalization in Tashkent region, a modern complex that realizes the knowledge and potential of young people.
