An attempt to bring automobile spare parts worth nearly 3.5 billion soums into Uzbekistan while evading customs control was uncovered in the Bukhara region. This was reported by the Bukhara Region Customs Administration.
According to the information, the incident was detected by officers of the "Olot" border customs post, which is under the regional customs administration.
The cargo, imported from abroad under import procedures, was directed to the "yellow" lane through the automated "Risk Management" system. However, the X-ray image of the cargo and the data in the accompanying documents raised suspicions among the customs officers.
Subsequently, during a customs inspection, it was found that the cargo contained over 3 tons of automobile spare parts that were not declared in the cargo documents.
According to estimates, the total value of the undeclared goods amounted to approximately 3 billion 500 million soums.
Currently, these goods have been placed in temporary storage. Pre-investigation inquiries are being conducted by the customs authorities regarding the incident.
