An Uzbek criminal who was on the international wanted list was captured in Egypt and brought to Uzbekistan.

As it is known, the person under search has been placed on an international wanted list on the initiative of the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan.

A citizen of Uzbekistan, suspected of trafficking and other serious crimes, who was on the international wanted list, has been extradited from the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, the wanted person was put on the international wanted list at the initiative of Uzbekistan’s law enforcement agencies. During operations conducted within the framework of Interpol, it was determined that he was in Egypt. Subsequently, the competent authorities of Egypt apprehended this individual.

Later, the Uzbek side sent an extradition request to Egypt. After reviewing the request, the Egyptian government made a decision to hand over the wanted person to Uzbekistan.

After all international legal procedures were completed, he was handed over to the staff of Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Uzbekistan and brought to Uzbekistan to face criminal charges.

"The Interpol National Central Bureau in the Republic of Uzbekistan continues systematic work to locate fugitives, develop international cooperation, and ensure the principle of inevitability of punishment, regardless of which country the wanted persons are in," the report states.
