On July 24, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sincerely congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday, wishing him robust health, happiness, and great success. He also wished peace, tranquility, and prosperity to the fraternal people of Uzbekistan.

The national leader of Turkmenistan also conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the country's President, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that thanks to the tireless work and far‑sighted policies of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is conquering new heights and achieving significant progress in the socio‑economic and political spheres.

During the conversation, issues of further strengthening the relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan within the framework of implementing the agreements reached at the highest level were discussed.

The parties noted with satisfaction that the pace of multifaceted cooperation based on the principles of mutual trust and consideration of common interests is increasing.

Active dialogues at all levels are ongoing, and the effective outcomes of the recent political consultations held in Ashgabat were highly appreciated.

The volume of mutual trade and cargo transportation is growing rapidly. It was emphasized that the effective operation of the "Shovot—Toshovuz" trade zone also serves to increase the volume of mutual trade.

Cooperation projects in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, water management, and transport are being successfully implemented. The importance of further expanding inter‑parliamentary, interregional, business, and cultural‑humanitarian exchanges was noted.

Special attention was also paid to the regional agenda, including coordination and promotion of issues within the framework of preparation for the next Consultative Meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, which is planned to be held in the city of Avaza in the fall of this year.
