Administrative measures were taken against the head of the Yakkasaray District Improvement Department after cleaning service workers were called to work despite the abnormally hot weather in Tashkent. This was reported by the State Labor Inspectorate.
On July 18, a video showing cleaning service workers working on Shota Rustaveli Street in Yakkasaray District despite high air temperatures was circulated on social media and sparked public discussion.
The State Labor Inspectorate investigated this incident and found that labor protection requirements had been violated in the Yakkasaray District Improvement Department.
In particular, it was determined that safe and comfortable working conditions were not provided in accordance with established procedures for workers engaged in improvement work.
Based on the identified violations, an administrative liability measure was applied against the head of the Improvement Department under Part 1 of Article 49 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (violation of labor and labor protection legislation).
According to this article, if an official violates labor and labor protection legislation, a fine of 5 to 10 times the base calculation value may be imposed, i.e., from 2 million 60 thousand soums to 4 million 120 thousand soums.
However, the State Labor Inspectorate's report did not specify the amount of the fine imposed on the head of the Improvement Department.
