Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's proposal to "freeze" the war in Ukraine.
According to Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov's statement, Putin explained Russia's position on the "special military operation" to Tokayev in detail.
According to Peskov, Moscow sees achieving its set goals as the main condition for halting military actions.
"We have the most important condition — we must achieve our goals," said Peskov.
The Kremlin representative also stressed that, given the current position of the Ukrainian side, there is no possibility of "freezing" the war.
Peskov added that the Russian Foreign Ministry stated the conditions for halting military actions two years ago. According to him, if Ukrainian officials make the relevant decisions, the war "could stop by the end of today."
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Omsk, proposed "freezing" the conflict in Ukraine, returning to negotiations based on the Istanbul agreements, and working towards peace.
