Brazilian officials have not disclosed the reasons for the visa denial.
Recently, disagreements between Brazil and the US have intensified over trade, electoral processes, and political issues. While the US side has increased tariffs on some Brazilian products, the Brazilian government has criticized these decisions.
The US State Department, however, stated that the planned visit would consist of routine meetings on electoral processes, religious freedom, and freedom of speech.
