The search for citizens who drowned in the Syr Darya River in Namangan region is ongoing. During the search operation, rescuers recovered the body of another citizen from the river. This was reported by the regional Emergency Situations Department.
It is noted that on July 26 at 14:06, a report was received via the short number 112 stating that a young man born in 2004, a resident of the "Gulbog" neighborhood in Namangan city, had fallen into the Syr Darya River flowing through the territory of the "Shurkuragon" neighborhood in Namangan district.
After the report, search and rescue operations were initiated by divers of the water rescue group of the Special Rescue Unit of the Namangan Regional Emergency Situations Department.
On July 27, during search operations, the body of another citizen was found in the river, brought ashore by rescuers, and handed over to the relevant authorities in the prescribed manner.
It was reported that the search is currently ongoing for three other citizens who drowned as a result of entering the water in areas where swimming is prohibited. One of them is the young man born in 2004 who fell into the Syr Darya on July 26, while the fate of the other two remains unknown.
The Emergency Situations Service urged citizens not to enter the water in areas where swimming is prohibited and to strictly adhere to safety rules.
