Employees of the State Security Service, in cooperation with the specialized customs complex "Tashkent-Aero", conducted an operational measure within the framework of the "Safe and Healthy Country" rapid preventive actions.

According to the information, the hand luggage of a citizen of Kazakhstan, born in 1994, who arrived in Uzbekistan on the route "Bangkok — Sharjah — Tashkent", was inspected.

During the inspection, a total of 4.4 kg of the synthetic narcotic substance "Mephedrone" was found, hidden inside 8 candy packages and 5 plastic containers.

During the operational measure, another suspect was also detained when handing over the said substance, on the instructions of a person selling it via the internet, to an individual born in 2006, a resident of the city of Yangiyo'l, at one of the hotels in the capital.

Furthermore, during the inspection, a pneumatic pistol was found on the detained person, which was officially documented and seized in accordance with the established procedure.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied to the suspects.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
