As a result of Russia's strike on Ukraine's capital Kyiv with ballistic missiles, at least nine people were killed, 28 people, including four children, were injured. Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this.
The attack was carried out on Saturday morning, and dozens of explosions were heard across the city. Fires broke out in some areas and power supply interruptions were observed.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, parts of a residential building were destroyed. It was reported that people remained trapped under the collapsed floors.
This is the second major attack on Kyiv this week. In recent months, Russia has intensified attacks on various regions of Ukraine, especially Kyiv, with ballistic missiles.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is asking Western countries to increase assistance for air defense systems, including Patriot systems.
