In Fergana, a traffic police inspector died as a result of being hit by a car while on duty.

In the Uzbekistan district of Fergana region, a road patrol service inspector performing his official duties, as a result of being hit by a car, died.

According to the Fergana regional Department of Internal Affairs, the incident occurred on July 31, 2026, at approximately 23:30, at the 20th kilometer of the 40V064 highway passing through the territory of the “O'qchi” mahalla citizens' assembly in the Uzbekistan district.

It is noted that driver A.E., born in 1996, while driving a “Spark” car in an intoxicated state, did not comply with the lawful demand to stop the vehicle made by senior inspector Sergeant Khayitbek Karimjonov of the 3rd mobile group of the road patrol detachment of the 2nd regional territory of the Road Traffic Safety Department of the Public Security Service of the Fergana regional DIA, who was on night duty.

Then the driver struck the inspector. As a result, Khayitbek Karimjonov sustained severe bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital. However, despite the medical assistance provided by doctors, he died in the intensive care unit.

It is reported that Sergeant Khayitbek Karimjonov had been serving in the internal affairs bodies since 2022. He is survived by his mother, wife, and two children.

The leadership and personnel of the Fergana regional DIA expressed deep condolences to the family members and close relatives of the deceased officer.

An investigation is being conducted in accordance with the established procedure regarding the incident.
