Mudflow and flood risk has been declared in the mountainous regions of Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, due to rainfall expected to be observed on August 4–7, a risk of mudflows and floods may arise in some foothill and mountainous areas.

According to operational information provided by the Hydrometeorological Service of Uzbekistan, dangerous hydrometeorological conditions may be observed in the following areas due to rains.

In particular, in the districts of Akhangaran, Bostanliq, Parkent, Piskent, O'rta Chirchiq, and Yuqori Chirchiq of Tashkent region, as well as in the cities of Angren and Olmaliq;

In the districts of Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangiqo'rg'on of Namangan region;

In the districts of Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Beshariq of Fergana region;

In the districts of Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qo'rg'ontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Xo'jaobod, and Marhamat of Andijan region, as well as in the city of Khanabad, mudflow and flooding events may occur.

Officials called on residents living in foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers moving through these areas to take precautionary measures.

It was also warned that in some regions of the republic, there is a possibility of flooding of areas due to the accumulation of rainwater.
