According to reports, the head of one of the district branches of the joint-stock company “Andijan Water Supply” in the Andijan region, taking advantage of his official position, demanded $8,500 through his official acquaintances in exchange for obtaining a permit to connect the sewage network to the newly built house of a citizen born in 1983 and assisting in installing a sewage pump.
During an operational measure conducted in cooperation by employees of the State Security Service, the Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office, and internal affairs bodies, this official was detained at the moment he received the requested money through a third party.
Another case was recorded in the Kashkadarya region. A laboratory assistant at the HIV diagnostic laboratory in one of the districts of the regional AIDS Control Center was caught at the moment he received $3,000 in exchange for ensuring, through his official acquaintances, a positive outcome of the expert examination conclusion appointed regarding a citizen born in 1996 in his favor.
The operational measure was continued, and the head of the district department of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Forensic Medical Examination was also detained with material evidence at the moment he received $2,500 from the laboratory assistant.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles regarding both incidents. Investigative actions are being carried out at present.
