Today, on August 4, the hokim of Tashkent city, Shavkat Umurzakov, together with Aziz Azimov, First Deputy Head of the Department for Public Security and Rule of Law of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, heads of city departments, relevant agencies, and the administration of Chilanzar district, familiarized himself with the work being carried out in the district.
According to the city administration, special attention was paid during the studies to clearing public areas of illegal structures, improvement, developing the engineering and communication infrastructure, and forming a safe urban environment.
In particular, officials visited the area of Qatortol Street and its market, and inspected the dismantling of illegally constructed structures that had occupied the pedestrian walkway for many years. It was noted that due to these structures, citizens were often forced to walk on the roadway.
According to officials, the ongoing work is aimed at creating safe and comfortable conditions for pedestrians. The walkways are intended primarily for children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, parents with strollers, and all citizens walking around the city.
Also, during the visit, improvement works in the Zarkurgan mahalla, measures being taken to increase the stability of electricity supply in the Navbahor mahalla, and existing problems at the GES-9 substation located in the Lutfiy mahalla were studied.
It was noted that the main goal of these works is to turn the capital into an even more comfortable, safe, and cozy city for every citizen, ensure legal order in public places, and consistently improve the city's infrastructure.
