A citizen of Uzbekistan, who was placed on the international wanted list under Article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (fraud), was arrested in Turkey and extradited to the country. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
It was noted that a person named A.A. had been on the international wanted list for about a year and a half. He was identified while hiding in the territory of Turkey and, in cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries, was handed over to Uzbekistan.
According to reports, in order to continue the investigation and court proceedings against this person, he was transferred to the disposal of law enforcement agencies.
According to the Consulate General, the cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey continues consistently in the areas of identifying persons on the international wanted list, bringing them to responsibility, and combating crime.
