Amsterdam's “Ajax” club announced that it has added Germany national team goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen to its ranks. The club's press service reported this.
According to reports, the 34-year-old goalkeeper will defend the honor of the Dutch club on loan until the end of the current season. According to unconfirmed reports, about 90 percent of the player's monthly salary will be covered by “Barcelona”, his legal owner.
For reference, Marc-André ter Stegen had been playing for “Barcelona” since 2014. He spent the second part of the 2025/26 season on loan at “Girona”. However, due to injury, he managed to appear in only two matches.
Last season, “Ajax” finished fifth in the Dutch championship — the Eredivisie. The team also reached the round of 16 in the national cup competition and failed to get past the qualifying stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Therefore, the Amsterdam club will participate in the UEFA Conference League in the new season.
