In China, a dog nicknamed Huahua, described as "the ugliest dog in the world," quickly became a social media star. Chinese mass media reported this.
According to reports, within just one week, short videos featuring Huahua were viewed millions of times on various platforms. Users described its unusual appearance as "ugly but charming" and jokingly called it "the dog that took last place in a beauty contest."
According to local media, Huahua's parents are purebred Border Collies that compete in shows. The other puppies from the same litter had appearances fully matching the breed standard. However, Huahua was born with a completely different appearance due to a rare genetic mutation. Its fur grew irregularly, and tufts of feather-like fur stick out on both sides of its ears.
It was precisely because of this unusual appearance that the dog could not be sold for a long time. But after its video was accidentally posted online, Huahua achieved fame in a short time. As a result, on August 3, it was sold to a new owner for 2,400 yuan, which is approximately 4.3 million soums.
