In Tashkent, an inspector of the border customs post was caught while taking a bribe. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.

It is noted that employees of the Department's Tashkent city department conducted an operational action in cooperation with the Customs Committee.

In that action, inspector O.S. of the "Keles" railway border customs post of the Tashkent city Customs Administration was caught with material evidence while receiving 3,000 US dollars from citizen A.Z.

According to investigation data, the inspector had promised to formalize customs documents in their names using passport data of other citizens and to register the IMEI codes of the devices for 10 iPhone-brand cell phones brought into the territory of the Republic via roundabout routes.

A criminal case has been initiated on this matter under Article 210 (taking a bribe) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
