In Navoi, nearly 2.1 kilograms of opium was confiscated from a citizen of Kazakhstan

During a rapid operation conducted in the Konimekh district of Navoi region, a large quantity of narcotics was discovered. This was reported by the State Security Service.

It is noted that during the operation carried out jointly by officers of the State Security Service and the Customs Committee, a car of the "Cobalt" model traveling in the territory of Konimekh district was stopped and inspected.

During the inspection, from a cellophane bag belonging to a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan born in 2002, who was traveling as a passenger in the car, 2 kilograms 87 grams of the narcotic substance "opium" was found and officially seized as material evidence.

According to preliminary data, this narcotic substance had been previously smuggled in from a neighboring state by drug couriers and left in a special hiding place. The Kazakh citizen attempted to retrieve it from that secret location.

In connection with this situation, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 2 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code (contraband), and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied. Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to identify other persons connected to this crime.
