This was reported today, on August 6, during the discussion of the draft law aimed at improving the road traffic safety system, which was considered at the next meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
According to the draft law, a number of amendments and additions to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, the Code on Administrative Responsibility, and the Law "On Road Traffic" are envisaged.
In particular, it is proposed to introduce criminal liability for a person who entrusts the driving of a vehicle to a minor, if as a result the citizen suffers moderate or severe bodily harm, death of a person, or other grave consequences occur.
Also, it is proposed to establish separate and enhanced liability in the Code on Administrative Responsibility for entrusting the driving of a vehicle to a minor, illegally organizing or participating in motor vehicle races, leaving trucks on the roadside at night in a manner that poses a danger to road users, violating the procedure for deregistering a vehicle, and exceeding the established speed limit by more than 80 kilometers per hour.
In addition, the document also envisages improving the penalty measures established for driving a vehicle while intoxicated or refusing to undergo the relevant examination, and, in the event of repeated commission of certain gross violations, limiting the possibility of paying a fine at a discount for a certain period.
According to the initiators of the law, these changes will serve to prevent road traffic accidents, reliably protect the life and health of road users, ensure the inevitability of liability for gross violations, and increase the responsibility of drivers.
