In Uzbekistan, over 179 billion soums of social cashback were returned to low-income families

In the regional breakdown, the highest amount of social cashback was recorded in Andijan region. Citizens in this region were returned 96.3 billion soums.

In Uzbekistan, in the first half of 2026, social cashback in the amount of 179.2 billion soums was paid to low-income families. This was reported by the Tax Committee.

It was noted that in January-June, social cashback was returned to 651,300 consumers based on purchase receipts. During this period, 6 million 11,900 purchase receipts were registered through the system.

By region, the largest amount of social cashback was recorded in Andijan region. Citizens in this region were returned 96.3 billion soums.

The next places were taken by Tashkent city and Samarkand region. Residents of the capital were paid 15.2 billion soums, and citizens of Samarkand region received 14 billion soums in social cashback.

For reference, starting from May 1, 2023, citizens included in the "Unified Register of Social Protection" can, when purchasing certain goods, receive a 12 percent value added tax (VAT) on the purchase amount as social cashback instead of the usual 1 percent cashback.
