At least 2 people were killed and 14 others injured as a result of a bomb planted in advance in a minibus in the Jaramana district near the Syrian capital Damascus.
According to Syrian officials, preliminary information indicates that the explosion was caused by an explosive device covertly installed in the vehicle.
Witnesses said the explosion was very powerful. The street where the incident occurred is lined with many shops and retail outlets, and the explosion caused panic among those nearby.
It is noted that Jaramana is an area mainly inhabited by Druze. In recent times, tensions have persisted between Syria's armed Druze groups and the country's new leadership.
According to UN data, more than 1,700 people were killed in clashes in the Suwayda province in southern Syria last year. The report noted that government forces, tribal fighters, and Druze armed groups may have committed war crimes.
