A total of 17,226.5 hectares of land from 4 districts of Samarkand region will be transferred to the city of Samarkand. This was reported at the 18th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis held on August 8.
According to it, it is planned to abolish Samarkand district and transfer its 28,295 hectares of land to Toyloq district.
To Samarkand city, 13,308 hectares from Samarkand district, 1,410.6 hectares from Oqdarya district, 1,265.6 hectares from Toyloq district, and 1,242.3 hectares from Pastdargom district will be transferred.
According to senators, the redistribution of territories will serve to develop urban infrastructure, increase investment and tourism potential, and improve the quality of services provided to the population.
The new borders are also expected to facilitate the formalization of cadastral documents and eliminate problems related to utility services.
