The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) may launch an investigation into the activities of FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The Telegraph reported this.

According to reports, the potential investigation may be related to reports that a six-figure compensation was paid to an employee with whom Infantino had a romantic relationship while he was serving as UEFA's general secretary.

According to a source, the investigation could cover Infantino's 16-year career at UEFA, i.e., the period from 2000 to 2016.

Gianni Infantino served as UEFA's general secretary from 2009 to 2016. In 2016, he was elected president of FIFA. Infantino was re-elected unopposed twice in subsequent elections.

Earlier, UEFA had reported that a six-figure compensation was paid to an employee with whom Infantino had a romantic relationship during his tenure as general secretary.

For reference, Gianni Infantino got married in 2001. He has four children.
