On August 12, the bodies of 8 Uzbek citizens who died as a result of a drone attack in the city of Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, were brought to their homeland via a special flight.
It became known that the deceased had worked at one of the construction enterprises in Tatarstan. As a result of the attack, several more Uzbek citizens sustained injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.
According to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's instruction, a government commission was formed to eliminate the consequences of the incident and provide assistance to affected citizens. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Emergency Situations, Health, the Migration Agency, and other agencies organized the repatriation of the bodies of the deceased to Uzbekistan, provision of assistance to the injured, and support for their families.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, and the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, Nodirjon Qosimov, also visited the scene.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Uzbek side, in cooperation with the Russian side, is monitoring issues related to this incident. In particular, work continues to provide necessary medical and other assistance to injured citizens.
