The issue of restoring direct flights between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was discussed. The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported this.
On August 13, a meeting was held with Shodurdy Meredov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan. Representatives of the transport and logistics sector took part in it.
During the meeting, issues of electronic visa processing for drivers, improving procedures at the "Farab–Alot" border crossing point, and reducing queues and waiting times were discussed.
It was also proposed to organize a separate corridor for perishable goods, build a second bridge on the neutral territory, increase road and rail transportation through the port of Turkmenbashi, and revise weight and dimension restrictions imposed on trucks.
The Turkmen side announced its readiness to consider the proposals and forward them to the relevant state bodies. The parties agreed to continue cooperation in the transport and logistics sector.
