In the village of Artibash, Altai Republic of Russia, a bear attacked a tent where tourists were staying. The predator took a 29-year-old woman who was in the tent into the forest and killed her there.
According to reports, the incident occurred at night while the tourists were sleeping. The bear tore the tent, dragged the woman outside, and took her toward the forest.
Those around tried to drive away the predator. However, since the bear also attacked them, there was no way to save the woman. It was later reported that she had died.
According to preliminary information, the wild animal may have been attracted by the smell of food left in the tent or in the tourists' luggage.
Currently, the relevant authorities are deciding what measures to take regarding the bear. An investigation is being conducted into the incident.
